ROUTE DESCRIPTION

SATELLITE/GOOGLE MAP VIEW

The 13.5km trail route starts at Bredasdorp Sport Grounds on the field. As you exit the grounds, take a left onto the tar road towards the Golf Club, pass the driving range before turning right onto a jeep track, through bushes and a culvert. On the other side turn left onto a single track, guiding you to the 3km mark.

Here, you’ll turn right on to a steep climb, up the mountain, the race’s highest climb, ascending approximately 95m over 1km. Reaching the peak, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Bredasdorp and the surroundings along a fairly even single track for about 4.5km.

The first water table will be at the 4.7km mark.

At around 6.5km, you’ll encounter a single-track switchback that descends the mountain to a tar road, followed by a 300m run. After turning left back onto the trail, you’ll cross a wooden bridge (watch your step if it’s wet!) and tackle a short, steep climb. You’ll pass through a grove of bloekom trees on a fairly even trail, joining the 27km and 13km routes.

Descending on a single track down to the entrance to Bredasdorp, you’ll merge with runners from all other race distances. Here is another water table. The route finishes with a 2km stretch through Bredasdorp along Long Street, past the church, and back to the Bredasdorp Sports Grounds.

This route is ideal for hikers.
